“We weren´t disappointed with the Sri Meenakshi temple in Madurai. It was the most incredible place to look at and to explore.”
Arrived in Madurai on the 4.30am sleeper train after ‘pleasant’ journey. Even managed to get a nice warm cup of tea at the station at that time in the morning. Far better than buses. Walked from hotel to the temple which really is a “living place” with all sorts of things happening.
There is so much going on there and it is very much a huge part of the life of the people. It was easy to spend several hours there. It looked spectacular later on at night all lit up. We had nice evening meal on rooftop at our hotel.
